October has arrived! Cooler weather brings a lot of changes for us, not only will we more than likely be wearing a coat by the end of this month, but also, without knowing it- we will shift our mood at the thought of what looms in front of us! If you live in a warmer climate; congratulations~ you are likely not going to need much from this week\’s blog.
It\’s inevitable: Mother Nature has a way of making our mood swing like a pendulum. I just wanted to give you a quick note about preparing your MIND for what lies ahead of you…we know in the upper Midwest and plains of the United States- the weather can get nasty cold, WINTER is coming. Remind yourself to keep your head up. It\’s temporary- just like our emotions! Get ready to push forward knowing there is nothing we can do to change the forecast. Prepare your mind for good days AND bad days during the upcoming seasons! Colder temperatures usually bring about moments of depression for a lot of people. Prepare your mindset for shoveling, hats, and gloves. Get ready for days inside watching non-stop television series and movies…Snuggle in the house with a blanket, hot cocoa, and catch up on all of it! Pick up that hobby or book that you pushed aside with your busy summer schedule. Make time for you to grow your mind and become aware of your thoughts driving your emotions! Try to slow down this time of year. Enjoy those around you. Remember, shoveling is not always fun- BUT the body strength you can build with a little exercise will keep you active! I\’ll be here if you need a little boost, just reach out.
Make a list of things you want to get done during the upcoming days/months you are stuck indoors. Not only will feel accomplished at completing the task, but to prep yourself for the FUTURE- I want you think of the feeling of having the project done! What a weight-lifted from your daily chaos. It\’s the perfect time of year to feel great about the indoor activities we can CROSS off our to-do list!
